This place is truely a hidden gem!!! After going to Honeymoon Island over a year, we finally gave this local beach a try - OMG... glad we did as it surpassed all my expectations. Honeymoon Island is still gorgeous and don't compare but Pine Island Beach alsohave very special characteristics and they are: 1. Quality of beach - water isn't like the Bahamas but it is clear and clean. Ialso think the water temperature was cooler too. 2. Crowd - I have never felt like it was jammed packed with people. Reasonbeing is that there is a very limited parking spot creating the Crowd control. If you are not there by 10am your chances aregreatly reduced. They let cars in as cars leave when it is full. 3. Activities - this is the uniqueness of this beach. There areareas for the beach goers, area to fish, and area to launch kayaks. You can bring food or also take advantage of their foodoptions. They also have a playground for kids and park style open grill option to BBQ if you choose. They also have a bathroomand outdoor place to rinse off (IF IT IS WORKING - this is only negative I have but I always bring my own fresh water supply torinse off anyway). It is great place to watch the sunset as well. 4. Perfect for children as the water level is very shallow,beach is mostly clam. 5. Price is great at $5 and after hours it is free. Love Pine Island. It's a beautiful local beach with the most beautiful sunsets. Although I didn't capture the sunset this trip... around to display pictures, it's still a "must see" for travelers/visitors. They have also built a fun playground for the littleones and provide food and restrooms. Read more

It?s pretty. It?s small and quiet, I?ve taken my two small children there to play and have a great time in the sand, water, and... playground. And also been with my husband to watch the sunset for a romantic quiet evening. Great for both. Parking free weekdays, $5 on weekends. Palm trees so it?s tropical but also still gives you a rural central Florida feel. Read more

I love going to this beach with my family! Even when it's at full capacity, it's not close to crowded. It has a park that my... daughter enjoys and always makes new friends at, a volleyball area, BBQ areas with tables, and a place you could buy food anddrinks at. Stay for the sunsets, which make for gorgeous pictures. Read more
