I really wanted to like this place. From the road it looks like an upscale restaurant. Inside is a different story. The floors... are slippery like there is grease all over. The roof vents have what looks like black mold in them, hopefully just dirt. Tablesand chairs are old. Overall the place needs a redo. Very young wait staff. Dressed like they are working at a fast food joint.Simply a weird high school cafeteria vibe. The food was fine but lots of greasy fried food Everything tasted the same.(Explains why the floors were slippery) The batter on the fried pickles was good. Otherwise nothing more exciting thancafeteria food or late night bar food. It would be great to see some owners take pride in this place, clean it up and make it areally nice casual fine dining like it appears that it maybe once was. Our waitress was very nice though. But we won?t be back. Read more

This place was amazing. Everything we eat had a homemade feel from the fried okra to the blacken catfish. Coleslaw was just... great. What a great stop for some southern food. You won?t leave hungry. Read more

We were in the area. Never been here before. It was amazing food. The hush puppies and onion rings were fantastic. So crispy... absolutely perfect. I have not had them like that since I left Florida. My husband had the catfish and vinegar based coleslaw. He had nothing but great things to say. I had the shrimp there were 3 pieces. Trust me I was full. I haven't tried the crabcake. Read more

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this meal. I rolled in after driving 10 1/2 hours not being able to face fast food. I looked... for locally owned places I was too late for barbecue so the Catfish House was the choice. What a choice it turned out to be.Everything was excellent beans, coleslaw, baked potato and of course the catfish! The young lady tried to get me to order the 3piece but thankfully I refused and stuck with the 2 piece. I even liked the hushpuppies and I usually throw them out. ( it camewith 3) I had my diet coke of course for a grand total of $19.76 what a steal. If you ordered the 3 piece it would easily feed 2unless you are my Dad Son or Brother they could easily put away the 3 piece and sides by themselves. Thank you for the food andhospitality towards this Missouri gal Read more

I do my best not to be down on a place, but cold food.. I ordered crab cakes, the menu says crab, this thing was over cooked and... smelled like straight up fish. The macaroni one of hardest things to get wrong, well it wasnt even warm and tasted like water. There are more choices and more places to get catfish along with some good sides, unfortunately this just wasn?t the place. Iwould have to agree with other reviews. The lack of flavor was very real. Would not go out of my way. I drove the 40 minutes togo and just will not be back. Thanks for reading. Read more
