It was recommended to me and I seen the 4 1/2 star rating to get not so fresh food I ordered ribs and they were just thrown in a... bag and the dumplings were soaked in whatever they seared them in. Tasty Chinese Cuisine, packaged quite upscale. Lots of parking at location. Restaurant is dimly lit making it perfect for a... date-night spot or an intimate lunch. Service was excellent and prompt. Probably the top Chinese lunch spot in the Union County region, Cathay 22 always delivers with a generous hospitality, efficient... service, and consistent food quality. Recently visited this eatery and enjoyed a few different dishes from the lunch specialmenu. Tasting both a fish in garlic spicy sauce and a beef and scallion dish proved enjoyable. The fish wasn?t spicy so be sureto ask them to adjust accordingly if you like it with a lot of heat. It was cooked nicely though. The beef dish was overloadedin onions and only a few scallions which was a bit of a let down. While cooked nicely the excess of onions didn?t serve the dishas well as it should. The soups, both egg drop and hot and sour were spot on and delicious. For price, service, andcleanliness, this is a great lunch stop. Read more
I'm shocked at how bland this food was considering the price. I've never been more upset about spending money. We ordered... scallion pancakes, general tso's white meat and sweet & sour chicken. I could've even tell the difference btwn the two chickendishes. Both were so bland, my husband and I agreed it was the worst Chinese we've ever had. Read more
