Simply phenomenal! It’s a small and intimate place, and the atmosphere and service is incredible. I have been searching for... rice here in the DMV area that most closely resembles the rice I had in Afghanistan, and this place is it! The rice with carrotsand raisins is fragrant and sweet. The meat was on point. While we got the meat entrees, most diners actually had stew on thetable - can’t wait to return and try their stews. Highly recommended 5/5! Read more

Well worth a trip. The food is prepared with love, as they states on their door. Very fine Arachosian/Persian cuisine, similar... to Northern Indian/Pakistani. Service was wonderful, food was excellent, and the price was definitely reasonable being in theDC. We went there Tuesday lunchtime, and it was packed with a bunch of happy faces. A few recommendation – Aushak/Leek andScallion Dumplings. I do not normally eat appetizers, but you do not want to miss their Aushak. They serve bread and 4wonderful sauces (yogurt/coriander, vinegar/coriander, mango, and something really spicy), which is worth mentioning. AracosianChicken (similar to Indian curry) was excellent, and so was Boneless chicken kabob (which is what I think of Persian food). Iwill absolutely go back to try their lamb and veal. The restaurant is well lit and has very nice atmosphere; upscale and nicebathroom as well. It is in a strip mall with a plenty of free parking. Read more

This evening we shared a family meal for my husband’s birthday. We’ve all never been to an Afghan restaurant and were... excited to try! Boy, we were not disappointed! We were greeted immediately upon entry. I didn’t catch the gentleman’s namebut you were extremely kind and gracious and patient with us as we decided what we wanted to eat. We had the Aracosian LambPlatter, Chicken Lawaan (no photo), Chicken & Ground Beef Kabob, and a surprise Cardamom Cake when we mentioned we werecelebrating a birthday! All the food was delicious!! Try all the sauces with the bread. Each had their unique flavor. We highlyrecommend if you ever have the chance, set your reservation and enjoy a dinner at this establishment. Read more

I love Afghan food, and I love Afghan Bistro even more. Whenever I think about where I want to eat, I always put here first in... this area. This place hits it out of the park on every aspect - the food is incredible and the service matches it. They reallymake you feel welcomed here, and they recognize their repeat customers. They have quite a variety of options - appetizers, kebabs, entrees, and stews. The stews are amazing - each one I get has been as good as it gets. I highly recommend getting thesehere. Also, they start you out with four homemade chutneys, which each have a unique flavor. Everybody who’s ever been hereraves about this place. I am one of those people. Why are you reading this review? Get in the car and come here immediately. Read more
