On our way to Canada we had the great fortune of discovering an amazing BnB called The Craignair Inn which has a restaurant, The... Causeway, featuring a variety of vegan options. These aren’t just any vegan options either, they’re delightful veganseafood dishes curated and conceived of by the proprietor, Greg. Pictured are the vegan crab cakes and vegan lobster roll, paired with wild mushroom tacos and of course a pale ale from The Maine Brewing Company. “Do the Right Thing” is the MaineBrewing Company’s motto, and Greg and Lauren are 110% living up to those words. The Craignair Inn itself is delightful andcharming, and the restaurant, with inside and outside dining options during the summer, could not offer a better view of ClarkCove and the Maine Coast. Overall, we cannot say enough good things about this restaurant and its attached BnB. It’s hard tofind vegan fine dining options on the road in America in 2022, sadly. That especially applies to vegan seafood, which, ask anychef, is the hardest animal-based food to recreate as a plant-based option. If you find yourself vacationing in Maine, plan tomake a stop in Spruce Head and stay for a night or a month at The Craignair Inn. We certainly wish we’d had more time toenjoy this gorgeous spot. Came for both brunch and dinner, and both were incredible. The spacing was comfortable; the view was stellar; the staff were... supportive; and the food was unforgettable. I'm really looking forward to coming back soon! Read more

Wonderful dining out on the new deck. We ended up at this restaurant 3 times this week just to explore its full menu. Very good... vegan and vegetarian options. (Vegan "crabcakes" and Wild mushrooms en Croute were the standouts. But the chowder, burger, fisherman's stew and pork prime rib were no slouches on the meat eating side either. Food is elevated. Great service.Reservations in advance recommended. Out on the deck is best when weather is good. The deck bar is also open during happy hour. Read more

Exquisite dinning. We were seated outdoors with a wonderful view that featured the finest of Maine's seacoast, a rising moon,... all later misted with fog. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in meeting a dietary restriction in our party. The food was beyond expectations. I had the halibut and found it to be perfect in presentation, portion, and preparation! I wassimilarly delighted on tasting both the seaweed salad and the fisherman's platter from others seated at our table. I lookforward to returning. Read more
