Best chicken and waffles in the area. Only recommendation is more seating and better syrup. Everything we tried was good.

A friend told me about this restaurant, stating that it was the best chicken sandwich he had ever had. Hearing this, I had to go... check this place out. When I actually got there, the restaurant seemed like a bit of a hole in the wall when I walked in. It wasweird to see since when I imagine a place that has such a great chicken sandwich it would be pretty big to accommodate all ofits business it gets. Byrd and Barrel probably has enough seating for 20-30 customers at a time. Despite this, I did not lowermy expectations which made this sandwich even more impressive in my eyes. The Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (what my friendhad that recommended the restaurant to me and my server recommended as the best thing on the menu) at Byrd and Barrel was thebest chicken sandwich I've had in my life. I don't think I could've asked for a better sandwich. The meat was extremely tender, the sauce had great flavor, and the garnishes were fantastic! I don't like coleslaw, but whatever was in this slaw was the realdeal. I cant remember what other garnishes came on it standard because I completely devoured this sandwich, but they served asthe perfect compliment to the entire piece. There's been very few times where I eat something at a restaurant and think tomyself, "That was so good I want to order another one right now". This experience at Byrd and Barrel was one of those few times.I definitely plan on re-visiting Byrd and Barrel and grabbing another Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich, and I would recommendanyone else that likes chicken sandwiches to do the same. Best fried chicken taste, hands-down. Fried pickles also superb. Only complaint is the beer prices. Major markup.
