very cute family bakery. my favorite thing is how cheap and affordable everything was. i got 5 bakery items and it was only $5!... i really liked the gooey butter biscuit cookie things. i mainly went to try the gooey butter cake, but they didn?t have any wheni went. just a reason to go back! Ive been going here lately on the weekends for homemade French bread for sandwiches and some treats. You can?t go wrong! I LOVE... the chocolate drops! They have lots of options for donuts and such, but these are by far my favorite. It?s usually pretty busyon weekend mornings but the staff is always super friendly and helpful. We went for the gooey butter cake, we left with much more - chocolate drops (order as many as you can afford, these were... amazing), sfogliatelle (just wow), and more that I don?t remember the names of. Bottom line, you cannot go wrong. The person whohelped us was super patient, helpful and friendly. My husband said he?d like to move to The Hill neighborhood just to be able tovisit the bakery regularly. Read more

Got a tip that this place had the best Gooey Butter Cake in St. Louis so checked it out. Just so many options with other... desserts and pastries. We ended up getting 2 full sheets of Gooey Butter Cake. This tasted kinda lemony, not sure if that is theusual style or if there actually is Lemon Gooey Butter Cakes and if we got the wrong one. It was still good but 2nd in STL. Ourfavorite is Russell's Cake on Macklind. Missouri Baking Company does beat MacArthurs, Park Avenue Coffee, Schnucks though. Wealso ordered the Amaretto Cheesecake slice, 2 Custard Filled Beignets with Chocolate on top, Lemon Pound Cake and ChocolateDrops. Everything was solid but I would 1000% get more Chocolate Drops again, that was perfectly made. Read more
