I tried getting some lunch today and was VERY disappointed in the customer service. The woman who was at the register seemed... annoyed I was there and rudely rushed me out the door when I was told that they only took cash (which is silly) I will not becoming back! Read more

Always very polite and food is always fresh. My wife is 100% Vietnamese so I speak with some authority, their beef chow fun is... one of the best in town. They have have plenty of other great dishes too though. One of our favorite Asian Restaurants. Read more

I order the Orange Chicken Specialty and my friend ordered the Sweet and Sour Specialty, we could not tell the difference... between the two. We had to smell them and still could not figure it out. Lucky we just shot in the dark. The food did notseem to have much flavor. I had the orange chicken years ago and it better then tonight Read more

I have a theory about childbirth, and why people tend to wait a few years between having each child. It takes that long for the... desire to have another child to overcome the memories of the pain of childbirth. Well, eating at Webster Garden is verysimilar. I often get the urge to eat some Vietnamese food, and every couple of years I go back to Webster Garden, as it is veryclose to Maplewood, where I live. Then, after having gone there, I remember why it is only every couple of years that I gothere. The painful memories of the prior visits come back with each bite of food. Now, I should say their Vietnamese egg rollsare fine, nothing spectacular, but perfectly passable. However, on the most recent visit they had no lettuce that istraditionally served with them, even when asked. No cucumber, or other herbs either. Oh well. On to the Pho. Where do youstart. I asked if they had any tendon, to which I received a reply, "no, but there is tendon in the meatballs." Perhaps that isthe classic way of making Vietnamese meatballs, but it seemed odd to me. So I went with the basic Pho Tai. The broth was paleand greasy, and not the good kind of greasy when you see the little globules of fat floating on the top, but the kind of greasythat coated your tongue. The flavor, of which there was very little would best be described as dishwater. Actually that mightbe an overstatement, as it didn't taste bad, it just really didn't taste at all. The rice noodles had been oversoaked and weremushy. And the rare beef was sliced too thick and overcooked by the time it reached my table (I was the only person in the placeat 2 in the after noon.) The Cafe Sua Da was premade and brought to the table, vs. the type of pour over and then mixed fresh atthe table. This was a first for me. This wasn't a huge crime but when you add it all up, it just leaves you to shake yourhead. So to sum up, I've been eating Vietnamese food since 1989, in multiple cities and in multiple count Read more
