I first stumbled upon this place because I was in the area running errands and was looking for some place to eat. I found this... place on Yelp. I was surprised to see an Iranian restaurant in the area considering this is Stafford County, VA. This is NOTNorthern, VA, Washington D.C. or Montgomery County, MD. The first time I came here I ordered the Kubideh Kabob. It wasabsolutely delicious. The meat was high quality and was very succulent and flavorful. It was served on a bed of Basmati riceand includes a small salad and a small order of chickpeas. The next time I came here I ordered the Special Persian SaffronChicken Kabob. That too was also delicious. I'm really shocked to see a restaurant like this in this area. This is reallysome of the very best Persian food that I ever had. Usually I would go to Amoo's in McLean, VA (my absolute favorite Iranianrestaurant) for great Persian food. Shandiz is a much smaller restaurant that has far fewer items but I believe the quality isjust as good. My issues with this small restaurant are that there are hardly any desserts (only baklava), there is no tea orcoffee, and there are no restrooms available to the public. I really wish they would serve traditional Persian desserts likeSaffron Ice Cream (Bastani) and Saffron Rice Pudding (Sholeh Zard). I also wish they would serve traditional Persian tea andTurkish coffee. I still highly recommend this restaurant. Note: This restaurant is in a very small strip mall that's part of aSunoco gas station so it might be difficult to see off the road. Just look for the Sunoco gas station. August 27, 2022 Update: I recently ordered the lamb kabob which was absolutely delicious. Out of all the dishes that I have had here I like theKubideh and lamb kabob the best. Also, the owner told me that they sold homemade desserts when they first opened theirrestaurant but eventually they had to stop because very few of their customers were buying them. This is no doubt d Read more

From the friendly greeting as you walk in to the tasty dishes such as the beef kabob, Shandiz Kabob is a hidden gem off Route 1... (and near highway 95). What makes this little restaurant standout is their consistent quality to each of their dishes. I'vebeen going to Shandiz Kabob on a regular basis week after week and I've yet to be disappointed. If you love kabob's and "MiddleEastern" cuisine, than I highly recommend Shandiz Kabob. Read more

Saffron Chicken was good. Lamb, rice and chickpeas were ok, have had better rice and chick peas at most other kabob... places. Usually naan is part of the meal but here they charge separate for the naan . Read more
