Great little pitstop. Credit cards are accepted, don't have to fill your pockets with a stack of bills. Well stocked gift shop... and kind staff. I stopped by just before June, and there were some muddy spots coming into the parking lot. Was nice to buy someproof that I crossed the arctic circle! I loved this little camp!! Loved the various signage saying ?do not enter the kitchen? in so many different languages!! I... visited in very early spring (April) and they didn?t have food offerings. Just beverages and some snacks. The little gift shophas a modest collection of souvenirs. I picked up a book of Aurora photographs, which I think was a steal for $10! Also, Iabsolutely adored the sticker-decorated gas pump! Above all these, what really made it for me was - I?d stepped in after a walkin the cold. The skin on my face was dry and itchy. I asked at the counter if they sold moisturizers. Turns out they didn?t. Butthe very kind lady at the counter, went to a staff-room and got me a spoonful of moisturizer! She even gave me a ziplock bag totake the remaining spoonful with me! ???????? My heartfelt gratitude for the kindness! ???? My friends were chatting with thelady about the experience of winter at the camp while I was reading about a bear break-in from some years ago! Ask about it atthe camp!! Very interesting story! Also, if you visit in the winter, walk down to the Yukon river! And walk on it too! - youcan brag to your friends about how you walked on the river! The Camp allows visitors to rest, eat our own food, and use their restrooms for free. They also have food and a little gift shop... inside. We also walked on the snow to view the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from this Camp. We tasted some clean fresh snow! Read more
