Wonderful experience - great service, very friendly, and the chicken/duck entrées were excellent. Would highly recommend.
My wife had the Lamb, which she loved. She noted that the veggies were not interesting. I had the chicken, which was completely... lack lustre. Under seasoned, the skin, when left attached, should be crispy, not like the lump of fat I was presented with. Thecook on the chicken was ok, moist and edible, but the most boring meal I have had in years. too bad. Lots of room forimprovement, we enjoy good food, and the Prune needs to be self critical, and ask themselves if this is great food or not? Myfeedback is that this is a nice place, with mediocre food. Had a wonderful dinner at The Prune this weekend. It is a small cozy restaurant in an old Stratford house, with an elevated menu... and excellent service. Although we didn't eat outside, their patio looks very nice as well. Little touches like an amuse-boucheof compressed, lemon infused watermelon add to the elevated experience. Overall, the meal was excellent (three of us had theWagyu steak and one had the chicken), but my mother ordered medium well (I know, don't ask) and it was medium rare at best. Theydid take it back and correct it but the rest of the food then got a little cold...that is the only reason for the 4 starreview...other than that, would have been five star. Dessert was simply amazing. Only other constructive comment I have is thatthe seats bottoms are padded but still a little firm but the chairs are wood backed with no cushion...not good for anyone withback issues, although there are also booths with padded backs on one side, so ask for those if needed when making yourreservation.
