Menu for The Bellwether in Studio City, CA

Good food great staff. Perfect place for a night out or business meeting.

Came here on Sunday night with my husband to sit at the bar and catch the Dodger game. They were super nice and changed the... channel to accommodate us. It wasn't very crowded but at the same time it wasn't empty, just a nice mix of people from olderpeople to families with young kids. I got a glass of Cabernet and my husband got a beer. Strangely, all their wines by glassesare the same price, $15. But I didn't mind because my Cabernet was delicious. We ordered the Cavatelli pasta with wild boar Raguand the coconut curry with sunchokes. Both dishes were quite good, better than we had expected. We had brunch at the Bellwether to get some girl time in after some rough weeks at work, finding jobs, etc. We had a wonderful... time. I splurged on the bottle of champagne and 3 fruit mixes. We loved the fries but I have to say the eggs bene was justspectacular! Also - feel free to show up w/out a reservation. The places was fairly empty which was nice but also made me sadknowing there were people lined up outside other restaurants when they could have been here having a leisurely and deliciousbrunch. I love tapa style restaurants with a great assortment of shareable plates. Bellwether hits a home run in this area. Tempura... cauliflower, squash blossoms, the meatballs, burrata salad, everything just YUM! 4instead of 5stars simply because not the typeof restaurant you can comfortably dine at for several hours. Interesting restaurant that doesn't quite know what it wants to be. All of the food we had at brunch was well above average, but... when a restaurant where (waiter's words) all of the dishes are meant to be shared, offers things like a burger (not easilysharable)... It creates a confusing dining experience. Same with the full English breakfast. I suggest segmenting the menu sothat it's easier to see sharable items. Other than that, the food was good. Read more
