A friend had recommended this place as the closest thing to Texas BBQ in the area. It is a small place but you can smell the... restaurant from a 1/2 a mile away. We were helped promptly and the staff were friendly. They recommended the ribs for my 3 meatplatter and it was a good recommendation. They do not sell beer/alcohol here, but we had just come from Tree House Brewing downthe road and they said we could bring in one of our beers to have with our meal. The servings here are very generous, and allthe meat was excellent, moist and flavorful. The greens were a mix of the southern style and the northern "vinegar" style. Theywere light on the vinegar and had bacon bits mixed in. The grits tasted good, but the consistency were a bit clumpy, I assumedthey were made that morning and this was after 4pm. The cornbread had good flavor, but was extremely dry. I believe thecornbread suffered from the same fate as the grits. Overall this was a great place. The best BBQ I have had in the area. Terrible experience. The bearded man behind the register was extremely rude. Just rude. Asked questions, talked back to me like... i was worthless. Inside is very small. Most people do take out. Outside is a few picnic tables. Also the food was lukewarm. notcold, but just barely warm. The pork and brisket was totally bland. I wanted it to taste good after reading these reviews, butnope, not at all. No seasoning at all in their meats. They have many very watered down sauces at the tables or to take to go topour on your meats but it still wont not make the food taste good. Since the food was not hot it was very greasy tasting. I amnot just saying this because the guy at the register was rude, the food had no flavor. One counter person was friendly. Thecollard greens were good, Mac and cheese was ok. No employee to clean tables between the customers. Tables very grimey andsticky. At least the meat was cooked through. For the high prices here you expect great food and great service. Not here. I was truly impressed. A friend recommended this spot on our way back from Connecticut for lunch. I got the brisket. It was... smoky and juicy and fatty... My mouth is watering just thinking about it again! I ended up ordering a 2 meat platter to go totake home to my husband who is from Texas and is very picky about BBQ. Great bbq sauce (sweet sauce) loved the brisket ribs and Mac cheese. Not a long wait and friendly cooks to chat up while you... wait if you sit at the counter. Will visit again and highly recommend you stop. Very big portions for the price. A+++++ Read more

Let me start by saying 5 stars isn't enough. This place was amazing, great atmosphere, friendly staff and most importantly... excellent BBQ. I've eaten BBQ in over 20 states and not one can compare. I'm from GA and this is what southern BBQ is supposedto be. Juicy, flavorful smoked to perfection down home cooking. And the macaroni is out of this world never have I had such goodfood. 100/100 recommended. Read more
