We live 6 hours from Killarney. We've been coming to Herbert's Fisheries for 4 years, consecutively. This is fabulous fish and... chips restaurant. The best fish and chips we have ever had. Jennifer, the owner, is charming. We hosted our pre-wedding dinnerat Herbert's Fisheries (which they do not normally put on) last weekend. Jennifer and her staff were exceptionally friendly andaccommodating. Everyone loved their meals. Light, delicious fish, paired with crispy french fries. A true Canadiana experiencewith fish caught from Georgian Bay. Sophia did an extraordinary job serving our guests quickly. If you are within 6 hours ofHerbert's Fisheries, you have got to try it. This review is for the Sudbury location, not the Killarney location, which we ate at years ago and was delicious and... fresh. This was not that, I don't know if we got the B team Monday night, but I was disappointed. The fish had chewy parts,batter was soggy. Even the fries we mediocre. For over $80 with tip for two adults and a kid, the meal couldn't be finished byanyone and the majority went to the gulls. Good portions however. Read more
I'm sorry. I used to come here weekly. The fish is good but the prices are ridiculous. You must realize alot less people eat... here now.. its just way to expensive. It's over 30 bucks for a meal. And I literally just paid 2.75 for a can of pop. I amsorry your fish is good but we won't be back . Read more
Everyone has an opinion on "the best fish-and-chips" place, and Herbert Fisheries often gets referenced that way. Yes, their... Georgian Bay whitefish is reasonably good (with neither the batter nor the fries being crisp enough for my taste). And yes, youget to sit on the beautiful dock in Killarney town while eating it. But the prices are extremely high for take-out (more than$30 for their "adult-size" meal, which has just a little bit of extra fish than their "small" meal) and the staff seem to havelost all interest in the venture. It would be great to see some more dining options in the town, some real competition thatwould inspire better efforts and prices all around. Read more

The best fish and chips I've had in Canada. I'm originally from the UK and fish and chips are our national dish. But this... restaurant easily beats many of its competitors in the UK including some of the Harry Ramsden restaurants I've eaten in. Thefish is supremely fresh and the batter was perfection (very light and crispy). Coupled with the fact I was able to have my chipsas a Poutine and the gorgeous views of the lake from the restaurant make this a place really worth visiting. Read more
