Came to this restaurant with an open mind because mom and pop restaurants like these usually have some great home cooking. Sadly... I was severely disappointed. Especially when my biscuits and gravy W/eggs were very cold on one side and luke warm on the other,the eggs had zero flavor but the coffee was decent. It took several tries to get the attention of the waitress so I could havemy meal remade. I'm fairly sure the biscuits were tossed it into a microwave because when I got my plate back the eggs werestill icy yet the biscuits were piping hot in the gravy was cold still and starting to solidify. Very nice staff! I ordered two dishes and a dish to go with lots of modifications. They were extremely patient with a lot of... changes. I got my food fast and it was delicious. Very good local diner. Conveniently located right off of Hwy 151. Service is always great & the food is good & hot. Prices are... affordable. Parking is fairly limited but never seems to packed enough to present a problem. Restrooms & dining area are alwaysvery clean. Highly recommend. Read more
HIDDEN GEM - went in for late lunch this past Sunday and was pleasantly surprised and you will be too. This place has excellent... food. We had the fried calamari with a homemade spicy tomato sauce and lemon wedges for an appetizer, my wife had the spaghettiand meatballs that were made fresh that day and I had the signature burger. The calamari was Fried to perfection, not greasyjust the right amount of batter I would have a hard time making this at home. My wife?s pasta was cooked al dente and themeatballs were really tasty and generous they tasted fresh with excellent meat quality. My burger was a half pound expertlycooked with Swiss cheese, perfectly cooked bacon avocado sauteed mushrooms a thick slice of tomato and fresh green lettuce thankGod not iceberg in a really delicious brioche bun(add pickled jalapeños) , the shoestring fries were FRESH not greasy at alland everything came out really hot. I have to tell you this burger was better than the great Dane or the old fashioned or any ofthose Gourmet burger pubs - we had capital Amber and get this ?frosted mugs? Worst experience I have ever had. When we got there, there were not any other customers. It took almost 10 mins just to get our... drinks ordered because the lady working was facetiming a friend. I ordered chili and a house salad, my fiance ordered acheeseburger and fries. It took almost 30 mins for the food to come out and when it did, it was barely luke warm. My fianceasked for a well done burger, it was still pink inside. Our meal cost almost $40!
