One of the best places for a great steak in NE Wis. Many, many years ago we had our wedding reception dinner there and the food is as good now as it was then! Just a very nice friendly place with excellent food.
I had BBQ ribs and the salad bar and I thought it was very good.
The Boarding House is my favorite supper club by far. They have the best steaks, old fashions, soup (beef barley) and salad bar. I've been going here for almost 30 years, and it's simply the best!
First time at The Boarding House and enjoyed our meal. The staff is very friendly. T,he salad bar, soup and our food was delicious. We will be going back
Awesome food! Great service! Wonderful place to eat and gather for drinks!
Mixed. First let me say the steaks (prime rib and ribeye) were good. Not excellent ever so slightly above average. Salad was extremely fresh even at later hour, actual salad bar selection was very minimal. Bread on the table eventually, but was two luke warm instant dinner rolls. The screwdriver ordered was excellent, the after dinner grasshopper was excellent, but if you enjoy an old fashioned it's a hard pass. It was about 3x the acceptable amount of bitters, a shot glass worth of honey (honey?!) No fruit no muddling etc. While I ordered a Korbel old fashioned sweet what was made was that disaster made with rail whiskey that tasted like allsorts. Honestly as I sat at the bar I noticed that honey was added in liberal amounts to many things that don't call for honey and the bitters were tossed out very liberally as well . As for service, it was mixed. Pleasant attitude in the adult staff, the younger folks came off seeming like kids forced to be there but staying the minimum amount of polite. Finally the prices as compared with other local establishments were fairly steep. Most offering started in the mid 20s to lower 30s. I would guess the beef provider was top quality accounting for the prices, but the preparation just didn't do anything to take advantage of the cuts.
Salad bar was good, but hard to serve yourself plexiglass to low kept bumping arm thus spilling ingredients out of utensils. Good homemade soup. Prime rib & steak very good. We Couldn't get near the bar to order a drink before. (Because of lay out of building, congested) Had water with meal not offered anything else. Very friendly staff, food came quick. Prices fair, it was all Ok, we'll go back, but we won't be hurring back any time soon.
Visited the boarding house on a recent Saturday night. We have been trying to get to a variety of supper clubs in driving distance of Green Bay. I enjoyed the historic atmosphere of the building, the bar and dining areas were charming and inviting. The staff did a terrific job keeping up with the crowds. Crowds you may ask, since there is a pandemic going on? You wouldn?t guess it here, I was the only one wearing a mask other, than the wait staff. Everyone should have the right to make choices at this point so I?m not casting judgment but just a heads up. It was packed in too! Fingers crossed that I don?t get anything. My stuffed shrimp were just OK which was the nightly special, as was the prime rib. I really liked my olde fashion, which had real honey at the bottom. They didn?t skimp on alcohol either, one drink kept me going just fine all night.
We are in the business of creating memories and smiles. Bring your family into The Boarding House Supper Club in Suring and allow us to craft memories that will be sure to leave you smiling for weeks.
