Went to the restaurant tonight based on the fave reviews. This can't be the same restaurant. Yes, there was country music. Old... country music. In fact, the entire experience reminded me of visiting an old-folks home. Most of the patrons we saw were intheir late 70s to mid-80s. The decor was tired and stale, reminiscent of a 1980's family diner gone to seed. The food wasequally stale- steamed chicken flashed on a grill to look like it was broiled, but in reality, was soft and gooey. The "steamedvegetables" (cut string beans and sliced carrots) looked and tasted as if they came from cafeteria cans- mushy, watery, andtasteless. Everything about the dinner screamed "convalescent hospital.". My chicken fried steak was decent, but again, whenpaired with the tasteless vegetables, was sad. Even the dinner rolls looked old and tired- generic wheat rolls with no flavor.The one bright spot was the split pea soup, but my wife's dinner salad was tiny and floating in water. Even after turning backher untouched dinner, they still charged us $4 for her dinner salad (she ate about half). Small portions, high prices, old andtired decor, slow service, and mushy food did was not offset by the boring music. At least the beer was cheap. Read more
