I really wanted to like this place because the owners are really nice and they put a lot of work into the renovations which... would make one think a lot of work went into all other aspects of the business. However, each time I went (3+ times b/c I wantedto like it) the experience was worse and worse. The service needs a lot of help. Hosts don't know how to gauge a wait time, andseem to get flustered really easily if it's slightly busy. The food is mediocre, overall. Could be good if there was anyconsistency in the dishes. The servers are nice, but non-attentive - I have never gotten a '2-minute, 2-bite' check-in on how myfood was and it often takes a long time for them to even greet a table. The last time I was there, I walked out after waitingover 10 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge me. Having been in the restaurant industry for 13+ years, I can tell an off night(or 3) from staff not being trained. This place is the latter. Probably a great place to go grab a beer at the bar though. Unfortunately the food was not good. It's a shame because the atmosphere and location are wonderful. The menu had a lot of... potential. I personally got the fig and goat cheese flat bread which was good but it's hard to mess that up. My in-laws got the$24 chicken breast and the salmon burger. The burger was inedible as pictured below and the pasta that came with the chicken hadno flavor. It was actually nuts that you couldn't even taste salt on it. Overall, the server was great but they should havecomped the burger since she only ate two small bites. Pretty unfortunate. Read more

Good reviews from all 5 in our party. As my son says "you can't mess up the brisket if you have animal heads hanging on the... wall". Read more

As local residents to Vernon/Wantage area, and have been to Smokey's many, many times over the years. It was our favorite place... for Smoked Wings and Dingo sauce. But now, we echo the words of another review: It was just OK after the ownership change in2020 right as Covid began. Not the same as prior to that. Now that it has been rebranded, it was just not a good experienceoverall. No attention from the server, maybe new, but still did not get drinks till after appetizer and dinner was out, and wehad to ask again for them. The drinks were 2 waters and a Sierra Mist. Server did not come back to check up on us at all. Maybebecause we sat outside? Food runner brought us the appetizers and the food. 1/2 the avacado was rotten, $6.00 up charge for it.How does that even get plated by a chef or line cook? Food quality and portion no where would equate to what the bill was. So,we tried it, to support a local buisness but never again will we spend $83.00 here, or any amount of money. Read more

I have been avoiding the restaurant for the past 2 yrs. The food was bland. Frankly, terrible.. I decided to retry if after news... broke that a new Chef came in. I had supper tonight with hesitations. Glad I did. The food was full of flavor and fresh. Hear meout, the new Chef is still feeling the local patrons out. Adjusting the menu to "our liking". I will be back!! I'm askingeveryone to give it another shot! Read more
