We have been wanting to try Maria's since we moved to Dekalb in June and finally tonight, our family got to celebrate on our... 16th wedding anniversary here and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this wonderful gem. Just like out of a scene from BillyJoel's "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant" I felt transported. The staff and owner are awesome!. The bread was fresh and therosemary garlic olive oil with the parm set the mood. The eldest son had spaghetti and three meatballs (HUGE meatballs!), ourother son had spinach, pepperoni and garlic pizza, our other son had bread because he just wanted to come and celebrate. I hadthe killer Bari Pannini and my wife had the Caprese Pannini. I got the parm fries and my eldest had the lemonchellocake. Everything was truly awesome! The atmosphere, ambiance, food, service and prices were all perfect. We'll be back again. We promise. I feel like we are part of the family now. Visit this place! You won't be sorry. Excellent! Maria was there and treating everyone like friends and family. I felt like my Italian Nonna was making sure I got... enough to eat and drink. Her marinara was divine! I had eggplant Parmesan with ravioli and loved it. My husband had a specialwith Italian sausage and broccoli in a wine sauce and he really enjoyed it. This is a gem well worth your time! Read more
Our first time here. Was expecting more per the reviews. The pizza crust was hard and tacky and it tasted dry from not enough... sauce. The spinach salad was okay if not a bit short on portion size. Ditto for the appetizer. The food arrived about 30 minutesafter we ordered for two people. After we got the food, the server never checked on us and we had to flag her down to get somerefills on water. Overall we were kind of underwhelmed. Likely will not return. Read more

Had a GREAT experience here. I enjoyed the atmosphere, decor, and soft music playing. After sitting, they brought bread, water,... and a small plate with silverware to my table. The server then let me know the specials. Service was amazing and they made suremy water stayed full. I ordered one of the specials, as written on my receipt "chicken satim bocca" it came with a side salad.The salad was good. The meal was absolutely amazing. From the chicken, topings, and sauce to the noodles. It was SO delicious.Unfortunately for me it was way more food than I could eat in a serving. Then I ordered a canoli for dessert, that too wasdelicious! If I make it back to Dekalb I will definitely be here again! Read more
