I have Celiac Disease and cannot have Gluten. I used to come here because they have a Gluten Free menu and used to care about... food allergies. The last two times I have gone there, they argue that they do not carry the Gluten Free menu anymore and when Iexplained my food allergies to the wait staff, I was dismissed and told I should probably just eat at home then. Really upset meknowing this used to be the ONLY place it was safe to eat out and dine in with my husband for date nights ( which hardly neverhappen so they mean everything to us!). Pretty sad. El Toro has been a favorite of my family since childhood. It's very rare that I have a complaint about the food. However, I... usually go to or order from the north tacoma location. Last night I ordered from this location and it will NEVER happenagain. We always order carne asada. It's a favorite and is always fabulous. Unfortunately that was not the case with lastnight's meal. The meat was starting to turn. I could smell it, but had hoped that my nose was playing tricks on me. I tried to eat a few bites but couldn't. If you've ever tasted meat that's going bad you know. There's a texture and tastethat no matter how much it's salted (I think they soaked it in salt) you can't hide it. Both carne asada dinners wereinedible. We also like queso dip. But, apparently this location makes theirs differently than most. It was alsoinedible. I've attached photos. Had I eaten the meal I am certain that I'd be in bad shape today. You guys really need tobe more careful and mindful of the food you serve. Just because it's take-out does not give you the right to serve garbage. Over $100 of food that we could not eat. Read more
