My husband and I went for dinner here for our 32 wedding anniversary. We had chicken livers in caramelized onion gravey for... our appetizer. The livers melted in your mouth and tender. For dinner hubby got salmon and I got a steak. Everything wasvery tasty. Read more
Quirky vibe. Food was fantastic. Eggplant appetizer phenomenal: thin and crispy (fried) eggplant slices with goat cheese,... arugula, and an amazing tomato jam with balsamic drizzle. So many flavors and textures! Kudos on this one. The carmelized salmonwith tomato confit, summer squash and toasted farro was good but lacking the fabulousness I was anticipating after theappetizer. Very large piece of salmon-I felt enough for 2. BUT since it was definitely a healthier option it cancels out theindulgent dessert, right? I had the buttermilk panna Cotta with candied jalapeno, watermelon sorbet, and crumble (so sorry Ican't recall the ingredient). Again a lot of flavors-it was very good. And to be honest since the salmon felt so healthy I tookanother dessert for later. The pavlova with Earl grey cream and summer fruits: have never made pavlova but it's on the list so Ihad to try it. Just sampled the cream (interesting) and pavlova. The micro beet greens were an interesting addition and the sourcherries were perfect. Great service by Tyler (who recommended the coconut cake which was my third choice). Will definitely beback. And the menu changes daily?!? Pretty extensive menu to change. Pricey but worth it. Prepare to spend at least $30 per person for only an entree. I got the steak with onion rings and mashed... potatoes. The flavor of every element was great. The bread was delicious. The atmosphere of the side dining room is awkward dueto the layout with the waitors? station and multiple entrances. It feels very disjointed and distracting. Amazing food! Our waiter highly recommended the trout and while I rarely eat fish, I was glad I was adventurous enough to try... it: not at all fishy; flaky, tender, nice lightly crunchy almond (gf) "breading". Yucca fries were very hot and fresh althoughrather bland. Pavlov dessert was good but I really want to come back for the pandan ice cream!! UPDATE: Went again for thesecond time in a week because I liked it so much ????. Had the spicy black bean patties, which were delicious, satisfying andfilling although very rich. Next time I'll ask for them with a side of rice and a few slices of avocado, and that'll beabsolutely fantastic ????.
