We went for the first time earlier this year but left a bit disappointed. Presentation, flavor and service were all pretty good... but none were outstanding. The lamb was great but the tofu dish was very bland. I felt that it had less of an anniversarydinner vibe and more of a business execs going to dinner vibe. It didn't help matters that they completely overhauled theirmenu two days before our meal and many of the dishes I was eyeing ahead of time were missing in action. We went to Mise en Place last Wednesday and it was PERFECT. Melissa helped and guided us to a great meal experience. I had the... Honey Bee drink (3 drinks, ha) - it was marvelous. Our appetizers were the buttermilk soft shell crab and a chef's special, somesort of crudo. All excellent. My entree was the red snapper and believe me when I say that it was fantastic!! The lemon pannacotta was amazing. Now, the biscuits they offer with bread and butter were OUTSTANDING!!! They are so flaky and delicious. Whata great experience. Definitely a keeper. My husband brought me here for Mother's Day so they had a special Mother's Day menu laid out. We had a three-course meal and it... was divine. The braised short rib was my favorite along with the cheesecake. We were trying to take a selfie before we left andthis young man said, No I have the perfect spot for you and he took our picture in a beautiful wine room. I loved the decor. This was my first time at mise en place and it did not disappoint. I had the Korean Argentina shrimp crab pancake. It was very... tasty but also pretty spicy. The smoked salmon carpaccio was my favorite appetizer. I had the venison for my entree and it wasvery very good. The grits and kale on the side also paired well with the venison. The s'mores tart dessert was delicious. Themarshmallow on top tied the dish together really well. The graham cracker ice cream sounds weird but I think it was pretty good.It tasted exactly like a graham cracker.
