I celebrated mine and my sisters Birthday dinner at Deer Mountain Inn the night of 11/18. Bart was our server and he was... AMAZING! He was so professional, polite, and charismatic. He dealt with a rowdy birthday group just perfectly. Bart made ournight special by x100! Our birthday group loved Bart as our server and we appreciate all his hard work that night. Thank youDeer Mountain Inn and thank you Bart! Read more

We stayed overnight in the wheeler room. The place is beautiful, the room was gorgeous and comfortable. Logan, who was at the... front desk, was exceptional. Kind, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. He made us feel right at home. The bed was extremely cozyand comfortable. The linens were so nice and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. There was an espresso coffee station set upin the hallway next to our room which was super convenient-and the coffee was delicious. Also, our room was stocked withliquors, snacks, and other beverages that you could add to your tab. We had the most delicious local chocolate bar! Dinner was adifferent story. I had REALLY high expectations after reading the reviews, but unfortunately-everything fell short. The diningroom is stunning!! The service was impeccable. The cocktails were delicious, but tasted much different than what we'd ordered. We'd ordered an apple pie cocktail-and what we received was a very orange forward bourbon cocktail-with not a hint of walnut orapples. It was delicious though-just not what was described. The focaccia came to our table totally blackened. I understand abit of char can taste nice and add some character to a rustic bread-but it was really burned.the top surface off the bread wassolid black. We should have returned it to the kitchen. I?ve seen pictures of the focaccia in others reviews and ours wasclearly burnt. Not sure how any chef would allow that to leave their kitchen. Each piece was bitter, because of the excessivechar. My celery root soup was not bad, but it was not delicious. It lacked balance. It was sour, and could have used some salt,or fat to round out or balance the flavor. I was not impressed with it, and felt it really could have been elevated. My troutwas very nice-red rice came on the side in a bowl and was served cool/room temp. The trout was supposed to have a "sunflowercurry" sauce-and the sauce was nice, but it didn't seem to have any type of spicing that would indicate a Read more

My wife and I visited for our third time recently. DMI is exceptional; staff members are detail-oriented, highly-trained and... focused professionals who have all parts of your stay figured out before you arrive. Kaitlyn handled all ins and outs ofmanaging the entire campus, it seemed, with total professionalism. Rebecca and Bart were Manhattan or Nantucket-level serverswho did not miss a beat; Bokeen and Miranda provided drinks and hot fires without breaking a sweat. All of them are kind, caringpeople who want you to relax and unwind. This place is a gem; you can hike, shop for antiques or watch a football game and relaxall within a five-minute drive (yes, a literal five-minute drive). The food is outrageously good, so much so that I booked ourfourth stay between our plates being cleared and the dessert coming out. They have an unrivaled eye for seemingly everything bigand small; the decor is exactly how you see it in magazines and the feel matches that of a cozy, private cabin. They?re alsoadding additional, separate cabins that are sure to define luxury. Keep an eye on DMI, as it rightfully books up quickly. Read more

Such a beautiful, warm atmosphere. I picked a wine that was out of stock. Based on what I like, our server suggested another and... it was incredible. I shared the grits, tuna and sourdough bread. Get the bread. You think you don't need it, but I'm telling youthat you do. Everything tasted fresh and perfect. I felt full and relaxed when I left. I will be celebrating here again! Nexttime I'm having dessert. Read more

DINNER: LOVELY LOCATION BUT SERVICE WAS POOR: My family dined her for dinner in 8/2022. LOCATION: the restaurant is located in... an old inn with beautiful wood interiors and a lovely bar. The deck overlooks the downhills scenery. FOOD: American classics -our steak, swordfish and trout dishes were good. The house made bread was delicious. WINE: Wine selection is fairly good andalso offers locally produced NY wines SERVICE: Our waiter/server seemed disinterested, very inattentive, and even a bit surly (Irarely use that adjective) with a poor level of service which is unacceptable for a high end restaurant. By contrast, thebusboys were attentive and very good. Read more
