This isn't my pro cuisine but I know what tastes good. Place was good but I didn't find it to be special like some other places... I have eaten. Wouldn't be my first or last choice when I want a Spanish food fix. Plenty of parking place was clean and servicewas nice. Read more
Okay I have to talk about this restaurant we have previously ordered from there through Uber Eat and never had a bad experience... with them. We went to the restaurant to eat there due to a relative's birthday, we arrived around one in the afternoon andeverything was fine. There was a little music, not many people since we started ordering, the orders took a long time, it's likeevery so often we had to call the waiter to see if he had forgotten the drink or the food, because they always took longer thanexpected. From one moment they turned off the music, the atmosphere felt a bit tense. At the time we ordered the food,everything was wrong. I ordered a sangria and it tasted only of alcohol, that is, it did not taste like sangria, I ordered amofongo, it was cold and tasted bad. Supposedly the mofongo should be brought as a garlic mojo to moisten it. They brought melike a salsa de grasa that wasn't even made from the meat of the mofongo (soy dominicana y nunca me habían dado grasa paraecharle a mofongo????) my family also ordered other different dishes. They ordered a soup de marisco and everything was salty,it didn't even taste like seafood, it was like salt water, my mom ordered rabo and you could count the 6 pieces they gave her,apart from how cold and dry it was. The food tasted bad, the mofongo even made me sick, I had to throw up on the way home. Thesaddest thing was the cost, at no time did they apologize because to all this we kind of told them: you can bring us somethingor they can heat this, the dishes arrived incomplete, it took about 20 minutes even for a bottle of water. When we asked for thebill, the waitress serving us was about to leave and she hadn't told her co-workers about our bill. What a disappointment,everything expensive and such poor food and experience. Always delicious food at Elsa! We've been coming here on and off for over 10 years. Hubby is Dominican so we had to find a... Dominican restaurant when we moved to Hackensack. Many others have come in gone in these years but we are always able to comeback to Elsa. There's outdoor dining and indoor dining. They now have a full bar. Definitely get some Chicharron or Mofongo! Food is great. But they really need someone designated only for answering phone calls. We called for over an hour to place an... order. I eventually gave up and just went in and ordered. Had to wait an additional 20 minutes. While waiting, the phone wasringing non stop. No one answered for a good 15 minutes. Other than that, evrerything else was great.
