Finally! A place with Amazing Birria! I’ve tried so many other places, just for the birria and it’s been either too salty or... to dry. This place got it right! I swung in here on a Monday morning for some brunch but I can only imagine how fun this placeis on a Friday or Saturday night. Plenty of space, large bar, and an authentic Mexican vibe. Nice twist with the sushi on themenu. Never thought I’d be eating birria tacos with a side of pot stickers (which they call pork gyoza’s here) but thecombination of flavors were surprisingly delicious! I think I found my new favorite Mexican spot in Tempe ???? Read more

I had this place today for the first time for lunch. I had it delivered through doordash. The shrimp fajitas and rice was real... tasty but the beans were not a favorite. The tortillas were pretty good also. I might be back to try their other menu items. Read more

I frequent to El Jefe Tacos and the food and service is always good and hardly have any mistakes. But this one really got me... upset. I ordered a birria burrito and there was no meat in it. Sadly, I didn’t find out until I got home because I ordered togo. It contained rice, beans, and cilantro. I was informed cheese was in it and there was not. I could understand an additionalfood item like rice or beans not being added or forgotten, but to pay $13 dollars for something and not have the main ingredientinside was pretty disappointing. First timer. I got the shrimp taco and the birria taco. These are large, standalone tacos that satisfy. I probably would have... been fine with one and a side. (El Jefe also sells smaller street tacos.) They were dressed well and the sauces and salsas wereexcellent. The interior is a little over the top. I'd prefer a hole in the wall look. Trying too hard to be hip but what do youexpect in college town? Ordering takes a while because there are so many opportunities to customize. Double-edge sword, Isuppose. Overall, I was impressed. I got flavor and the experience didn't distract. I'm happy. I plan to come back to try thesushi. Read more

Overall, way overpriced. It is semi-good food and a large selection. But they aren't good with updating media and menus. With my... experience, I showed up to a investors event without knowing because they didn't post anything about it. We only had one spot toeat, and was crowded by people who weren't enjoying the food, just talking about the event. I would never go here again. Read more
