It was our first time visiting Thunder Bay from Toronto. Tomlin did not disappoint! The food and the service was amazing! We got... the dry aged ribeye with potatoes and salad, and the spaghetti. The quality and depth of the dishes were better than manyToronto restaurants we have tried recently. Definitely not a place to miss if you want a good meal. The waitress also went outof her way to write a list of recommended restaurants, cafes and bakeries for us to venture to. Read more

Second time this week I've given 5 stars and again it's a very nice restaurant with exceptional staff. Thunder Bay is... impressing me with its dining. Street parking as well, although there is a parkade two blocks up, and plenty of side streets topark on as well. The entrance is wheelchair accessible as is one of 3 washrooms in the back. Seating is higher chairs andtables for 2 or 4 people with a 6 seater in the window area. There is a 30 person room in back for larger groups, which is goodto know as it can be booked. There is also seating for 10 at a long table facing the well stocked bar. Service was quick andthe food exceptionally good. I had 6 raw oysters and a Shwarma sausage and spaetzle dish. My partner had a meat platterappetizer and roasted brussel sprouts as a meal. The sprouts were "to die for". The Shwarma sausage was spicy and delicious aswell. We finished off with two desserts, a smoked bourbon pie and a rhubarb cake. Both were delicious. The menu changes withthe seasons and the choices of the chef so every visit can be different. We showed up just after opening at 5 pm and wereseated right away. Once the seats are full, the maitre dame takes your cell number and believe me, they are diligent onfollowing up when a table is empty. $160 for two with appies, entrees, several drinks each, dessert and taxes. You NEED to eat here if you are visiting Thunder Bay or if you have never been ! Recently moved here, and heard amazing things... about their burger night on Tuesdays. Where else are you going to find a restaurant serve a medium rare, juicy, flavourfulburger with a homemade bun, delicious sauce and all the fixings for only 15 dollars!!!! Service is friendly, efficient andextremely welcoming. Their cocktails look delicious, but their local beer on tap won't disappoint either. Hands down, one of thebest restaurants in the city.
