200 year old mill. Converted into a restaurant a long time ago. Could use a good dusting and an update. Peeling wallpaper,... burnt out bulbs everywhere. My husband and I were looking for someplace new to try for date night and decided Pioneer Mills would be our pick last Saturday.... We were blown away by our experience! The location and atmosphere was so scenic and beautiful. We were able to sit on thepatio overlooking the river. The hostess found out we'd never been there and made several great menu suggestions, including thedelicious 7 layer chocolate cake and ice cream. Our food was SO GOOD! piping hot, absolutely delicious. Our waiter was Brock,and he was great as well, making sure our experience was amazing. The manager came by several times, and was helping as it wasextremely busy, and yet the team work there among the servers and staff was super efficient and fast. Wonderful place to eat. The hostess that met us at the front was so nice. Once I told her we had never been there before she... was kind enough to offer some suggestions. We had just a brief wait for a table as they were quite busy on a Saturdayevening. The patio overlooks a creek and there are a lot of trees around. So, the scenery was great. They had quite a largearea for seating on the patio complete with a bar in the middle. The chairs are wooden but we're very comfortable. Our serverBrock was absolutely awesome. Even though they were very busy he was very attentive and we felt that we were well taken careof. The food was outstanding. My wife had the chicken parmesan sandwich and I had a chicken and linguine dish. We were veryimpressed with not only the quality of the food, but also with the speed at which our food came out. As recommended by thehostess we had the triple layer chocolate cake for dessert, absolutely wonderful. All in all, you could definitely spend somemoney here, but it is well worth every dollar. I've ate at the Pioneer Mill in the past and from what I remember the food was good and the building was amazing. Just dropped... by today coming back from Lake Erie and wanted to show my lady friend how cool the restaurant is. Was disappointed with theparking lot, there was a branch down and trash laying around. The outside looked like it could use a spruce up. Kinda feel thatif the small things like that aren't taken care of by the owners, how can food quality and service be good? Read more
