DEFINITELY WITH A VISIT! I stopped by on a Wednesday evening just in time to catch a well attended trivia contest that was lots... of fun. I had a flight + 1, sampling a total of 6 beers and I was impressed by them all. I made sure to sample very differentstyles, ranging from a Belgian Guze, to a rye, to an ESB and each beer impressed. The balance was consistent and appropriate forthe style (ie the scotch ale was malty, the ESB had good bitterness, etc). Nothing was over the top - nothing was over hoppedand the ABV levels are all under control. Talking with the staff about this, I was told "we want people to enjoy more than 1."Excellent approach! These folks are also trying to support the local community and locally source as much of their malt andhops as possible. If I had to constructively criticize anything it would be two things: 1) the lack of food on the menu, and 2)I think the sourness of the Guze could have been a little more lactic (but I concede it is easy to over do that and end up withsomething that tastes like a horse blanket). Iron Gate is amazing! Great amtosphere in an old downtown center. If your ever visit Tiffin stop in. Beware maps gets a... little confused, since it's in an old indoor mall area just park on the street anywhere and walk in. Read more

First off, let me say that I have frequented many a taproom. This brewery has the atmosphere, the staff is... knowledgeable/friendly, and the beer quality to back the experience up. I highly recommend this brewery be added to yourregular stop list or at least a ?to try? bucket list. Well done lads! Read more

We really liked the atmosphere and the lab concept with beakers for glasses is very cool. Unfortunately, the beers were average... to awful. I have visited many, many breweries around the world and have had numerous flights, but this is the first time that Isimply could not drink all of the beers! In my flight of 5 beers, 3 were drinkable even though they may not have been true tostyle or met their description (e.g., the salted caramel porter which had absolutely no hints of either flavor). Both of theother beers were very sour...and they weren?t supposed to be. The first of these was a SMaSH beer which the waitress saidcustomers claim tastes like a gose (which she mispronounced) but they couldn?t call it a gose (and why would you anyway if itwasn?t) because their license doesn?t allow it (which was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard and should have been myfirst clue!). While a gose is tart, it shouldn?t be this tart (it was closer to a lambic or a brett) and of course there was nosaltiness. The second undrinkable beers was an imperial oatmeal stout, which was also a little sour. While I could MAYBEaccept a SMaSH being sour, an oatmeal stout, much less an imperial, should have NO sourness. This told me thy have either afermentation or a sanitation issue (or both). Perhaps they are still working the kinks out and the beers will improve, but it?sdoubtful I will ever be back. Read more
