Sonny’s always has great staff and servers, however their bbq isn’t always consistent that’s why I gave four stars out of... five. Most of the time it is good, but I have had a couple times where the meat just wasn’t great and I wish it was better.Sides, apps, and salads are always great. Our favorite local BBQ. Great food and quick take-out. Except tonight. The fries were so stale, they tasted like last night’s... leftovers. Come on - Fresh, hot French fries. That’s what people want. Sonny’s is not a low-end joint. There’s no reasonto have fries sitting around and serve them because you can’t afford to make a fresh batch. If I had been at the resteraunt,I’d have sent them back. But take-out ? Ha. Nobody takes it back. You have my money, so I’m stuck with the bad fries.Don’t get me wrong- usually the fries are great. I am not usually a fan of BBQ and Sonny’s in Orlando usually comes out dry. This location has the best food. The service is... friendly and fast! The menu has Banana Pudding, but the server said they don’t have it at all. :( UPDATE: They have bananapudding!!!!!! Read more
New management has really fixed this place up. Food used to come out simultaneously overcooked and cold. Now I can say that I... haven't had a bad meal there in months. I order from them almost once a week. They have become our go-to and have retained theirquality over the COVID crisis. The price point is also pretty persuasive. I am shocked by how little their prices havemoved. You can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches. It's probably an indictment of Titusville to say this, but they alsohave one of the best burgers in town. Their chicken dinner is always flavorful and a good value. Online ordering is a pinch. I hadn't been to Sonny's BBQ in awhile, but felt compelled to answer the call of the new Pitmaster Select Bowls! Sonny's does... BBQ with mastery. Each individual ingredient in the bowl arrived carefully prepared and fresh-from-the-kitchen warm. Anabundance of sauce over-saturated the dish, however, so I would certainly request sauce on the side in the future. Every bitecarried a unique blend of taste and texture--creamy macaroni, crispy onion straws, juicy pork, smokey bacon, and smooth bakedbeans. These bowls come in large portions. I ended up having to take home half of mine! Pro tip: Request the off-menu quesocheese as a sauce for your bowl! It pairs great with Fritos. The BBQ Pork Eggrolls are on another level. I would go to Sonny'severy month *just* to eat these. Crunchy shell outside, packed inside with tender pulled pork, sweet coleslaw, and creamy-hotpepper jack cheese.
