Authentic Japanese sushi restaurant in downtown Toledo. One of the best in the midwest!! Pictured: hamachi, otoro, uni,... negihama, negitoro and yakitori. Our other favorites included wagyu and madai nigiri. We couldn?t rsvp chef?s omakase because itwas full on a Tuesday night. Friendly service. I've been waiting to try this place, but never had the chance when passing thru the area from Columbus. We arrived at 17:05, and... already were on a 2hour waitlist, but it was well worth it! Their wait estimate was spot on, by the way! For 6 of us, they said2-2.5hours, and we received notice that our table was ready in 2hrs 5min! The service was fantastic - friendly and quick!Everything was fresh, flavorful, perfect texture and temp, and perfect size to try a bit of almost everything as a group. Thenigiri portions were generous cuts of fresh fish, and the salmon and tuna just melts in your mouth. My boyfriend and I recently did the Omakase for my birthday and wow!! This was our first time here and our meal was an... incredible experience. Every course was fantastic and fresh. Our server was attentive without being over bearing, and Chef Kengoclearly knows how to create a dish from ingredients that compliment each other perfectly. I think Kengo?s Omakase is somethingevery sushi fanatic needs to put on their bucket list. We both agreed the bluefin tuna was the most incredible slice of raw fisheither of us have ever had!
