We had dinner at at Besse?s twice in a week. The first visit they were the only place open. That visit we found staff friendly... and food mediocre. We enjoyed cocktails on the deck. We found the salmon very fishy and ribs quite dry. Three days later we?reback with some family and the bartender was nice (he?s leaving next month) and the owner was our server. We told Her about ourrecent experience and suggested we try it again so we?re shared the salmon (charged $5 to give us an extra plate) salmon wasbetter and the rest of the food was pretty good. Great view sitting at the bar while having a brandy old fashioned. Chicken liver app was very tender. Reminded me of comfort... food I had growing up. Shrimp app was plump, tasty and perfectly done. Prime rib was excellent and so was the salmon. Had acouple glasses of wine with dinner to round off our evening out. We would highly recommend. Read more
We were in the area for a few days and looking for a good WI. fish fry. We were told this was the place. The fish was ok at best... but there was only two small pieces of cod and one small piece of walleye. Pretty disappointed as there were many other placesrecommended. We also went for the patio but it had rained earlier in the day and nobody had dried off the table and chairs andseemed unwilling to do so. Read more
