Menu for DEQ Terrace and Lounge in Toronto, ON

Great Lounge! Nice atmosphere!

I went here for Afternoon tea, to celebrate my birthday. Overall it was a very nice experience. The lounge had a nice ambiance.... There aren't a lot of other tables in the room, so it feels intimate. But the room is modern and loungey, and not what you mightexpect from a tea room. You choose your tea from a box of samples, so you can get a chance to see and smell your choice beforecommitting, which is a wonderful touch. The seasonal menu seemed to be Carnival (i.e. New Orleans/Mardi Gras) themed. Therewere some very interesting flavours, unique sandwiches in particular. The desserts (not all were the same listed on the menu)were all citrus flavoured, and unfortunately for me that's my least favourite kind of dessert flavour, so that was a littledisappointing. The presentation was lovely though. And the food was delivered to the table in stages, which set a nice relaxedpace, ideal for conversation. Expect about a 2 hour experience. I'd recommend to a friend who is looking for a unique afternoontea experience in Toronto (it may very well be the most unique available), but not to someone looking for something verytraditional. I had been looking into places to celebrate my husband's birthday and thought the DEQ lounge would be perfect. I was told it was... available and made numerous attempts to book it. After three weeks of non replies and being patient I finally get told they werebooked. This was very disheartening as I'd already sent a save the date out and had out of towners arrange travel. We were verydisappointed given that we had selected this venue because of its service which I thought would be top notch and make the eventa successful. Too bad we will never know now but I would definitely not book a private or corporate event here after the lack ofservice received to make the booking. Read more

We come here for tea at Christmas and love it! The atmosphere, the service, the food, all are top knotch. Today was particularly... delightful in terms of food and service. We take tea regularly throughout the GTA and wherever we try, we return here for theNutcracker Tea over the holidays because it's such a special experience. Read more
