This is a cute vegan restaurant with an Asian flair. Their new location on Queen street East is beautifully decorated with gold... accents. They have a huge harvest table that really anchors the place. I really like their Japanese curry bowl and Kimichi macand cheese. However, I was underwhelmed by their desserts, not only was the choice limited they were also lacking in flavour.That said, I have already been there twice since their mains are really good. After passing by a few times and being impressed by the decor, we finally decided to give it a go. We are so glad we did. The... service was super attentive, but not intrusive. They were happy to guide us through any questions we had with the menu, aselection of vegetarian and vegan options. (Which for me has the perfect balance or variety and curated choices) I’m notcurrently a vegetarian, and I was really impressed with the meat substitutes. This place could be great, but it just missed the mark for me. We went for lunch, and the menu options are unique but we didn't... really understand what we were getting. At vegan restaurants, I feel it's really important to be clear about what theingredients are, especially protein-wise. Although very sweet, the waitress did not know the menu and the service was slow,considering we were the only people there at the time. Music could be better to improve the ambiance too. I'm rooting for theplace though - I like that there is a vegetarian option in the beaches. Read more
Grasshopper Vegan Restaurant Beaches Fantastic atmosphere ,Food is very tasty especially the burgers. They come with soup,salad... or.fries. The staff are friendly and polite. For dessert we had the Vegan Blueberry cheese cake lighter and tastier than withdairy . Only complaint is that the washrooms are down a flight of stairs, not so good if you are disabled ,or elderly. We had brunch here today. Very, very delicious. Decor is a little wonky, but don’t let that turn you off - the food is super... fresh, super delicious. I had the “Benny” and it was fantastic. The homemade BBQ sauce on the faux pulled pork was onpoint. Lindsay had the Breakfast Bowl, very fresh, she loved it. If I were to compare it to anything, I’d say it’s mostsimilar to Fresh on Queen near Bellwoods - good company to be sure. Give it a go, you won’t be disappointed.
