Lots of people on a Tuesday night at around 7:00pm. You write your name on a list and they call you when the table is ready.... Waited around an hour for a table of 5 people. Food was good, tasty, good portions, but took around 45 minutes-1 hour to arriveas the kitchen was very busy. Overall good experience, would recommend coming later in the night if you want a quick seat. Read more
Great little Korean spot in the village. We had the Boneless Chicken with Soy Sauce and Army Stew. Both were very tasty, but the... chicken here is an absolute must try! POCHA 1989 delivers as the BEST Korean bar food in Toronto. Everything I've tried here has blown my expectations away,... everytime. Personal faves: Kimchi Fried Rice, Sweet and Spicy Fried Chicken, and the Fish Cake Stew (not pictured). If you'rewith a small group, I'd recommend coming here later in the evening to skip the opening rush at 6PM. Read more
An interesting mix. Great service, good food, high-ish prices, good ambience (aside from place-settings). We finally went to... Pocha after always seeing lots of people at the restaurant and being curious about the menu. They were out of the pork bellystew so we opted for the Korean army stew - expensive considering it is supposed to be a cheap and easy dish, yet it is pricedamong the other hotpot-type dishes. The soy chicken was delectable and I highly recommend this dish with drinks to enjoy Pochato the fullest with a group of friends. As a dining experience the restaurant left more to be desired due to no side dishes andpaper/plastic tableware. I would recommend going for a late night snack and treating it as a social spot rather than expecting aKorean restaurant experience, but what they choose to do, they do it well. Read more
