Not a bad deal for weekday lunch, but not someplace I would think of on my own. Joined family here after funeral services for my... uncle and I thought they did a decent job of taking our drink orders and providing refills for the large group. Food is hit andMiss though. The one dish I really enjoyed was the hot and sour soup! One of the best versions i have ever tried. Clam chowderand miso were a big disappointment though. I loved that they had teppan, but the beef was chewy, very thick and veggieslimited. They have so many other options, there probably something for everyone here. We pass this location almost every time we come to the mall so we decided to try it during lunch time Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5... - They have the typical offerings of an Asian buffet, a teppanyaki grill, some sushi, and ayce ice cream. Good: The raw musselswith chili sauce was pretty good. The fried chicken leg was surprisingly flavorful and juicy but it is Asian seasoning so thinkmore like turmeric. The shu mai tasted more like a meatball but the SO really enjoyed it. There was a good fruit/dessert spreadwith a good options in flavors Meh: the sushi rice is hard and too much sauce on the majority of the roll. The clams weren'tcleaned well and were grainy. Most items were VERY salty. This may be because we went at an off time (around 2 PM) but manyitems were chewy or dry so it could have been sitting in the warmer for longer than usual Ambience: 5/5 - we enjoy the softmusic and the restaurant is really clean. Not back to what it was before the COVID pandemic. Food is still good but the cuisine has changed and especially the dessert bar... is different from the cakes to the ice cream. It?s all changed and unfortunately, most of the people in my party were inagreement. One vegetarian choose not to eat because the selection of vegetarian dishes was unsatisfactory. The retailer intakeperson didn?t hear our drink orders correctly so one of us didn?t get served a drink. They?re passing the crab out as?complementary? even though the price for one dinner has seemingly doubled. I just made my last visit to this restaurant. I didnotice that they are still garnering a line to get in the place and families look happy to be there. Some other things I noticedwas no music when they used to play good music and show sports on television but they had their TVs off. There are now signs notwaste food and that is fine but it?s a buffet so people usually taste recipes for the first time at that type of restaurant. Iwant to be clear, the quality of the food is good. They turned to coke for beverages and I personally don?t like that brand. Ihope they regain some strength in the coming months because there is at least one competitor moving in on the same row soon andwith that kind of atmosphere that they are maintaining, it might be easy for the competition to make headway in theirmarket. Vegas Seafood is located in an open mall in Torrance. Parking is free in the huge mall lot and you will find a space easily.... This is a buffet where you get in line outside and pay. It is about 39$ for dinner plus a 10% surcharge, what that is for isbeyond me. You will also pay for your drinks, but there are free refills if you can find someone to get it for you. The buffetis huge. There is something for everyone. They have a lot of Asian food. They also have crab legs at dinner and lobster (1) onSunday for a much higher price. Their offering of sushi is quite good and they have some great Asian rice and Asian dishes.They even have garlic toast and great ice cream. They also have the normal things you would get at any buffet, mashed potatoes,lots of cooked veg. and some really nice fresh fruit. Their deserts are okay. We found the service to be a bit slow, our serverbrought our drinks and we never saw him again. The place is ever so clean. The food was good enough that we will be back. Havefun. Read more
