I have been searching for white meat chicken and broccoli since we moved back to the area. This is the best. This will be our... favorite Chinese restaurant. Very good fried rice and egg rolls too. We both loved our meal. Read more

found a chicken bone in our food, but that wasn’t the issue to why i’m leaving a bad review. i called them to let them know.... very unapologetic for what occurred. they told me they couldn’t refund me because we made the purchase on a card. they made upan excuse saying the cook didn’t clean off the chicken properly… i understand mistakes happen, but to say that to a customerand then not take accountability for it is a different story. they ended up telling me i had to drive back to the store to get arefund in cash. did that and to also give them the rest of the food we got (all chicken so didn’t trust it), then they told methey had already refunded the card for that one meal that the bone was in. Essentially, there are. two types of Chinese restaurants, in the USA. The well-known commercial cookie-cutter style and "Family... Style" or "HomeStyle"... Restaurants that serve their food "Family Style" virtually don't exist. I was completely clueless tothis until I just happened to order from a place in Southington, CT for the first time ever first at age 38 (and I'm no strangerto Chinese food). I believed this to be a rather special find at, this stage of my life. I'm, currently, 40 and I recently movedto Torrington. I, first, tried "Chinatown" bc it's named after Chinatown in NYC and (at this moment) it is also the highestGoogle-rated local Chinese restaurant in this area. Reviewers seemed overly satisfied with the quality, the presentation and theprice. The provided photos looked appetizing however the photos didn't make me expect anything other than a solid upper qualitystandard Chinese joint - which is the best One would typically hope for. Pics don't really do it justice. It's something youneed to experience, for yourself. Still, I did provide a photo of a Wonton uncut and cut which may help. (BTW, the prices are adollar or 2 more for everything at the first place I discovered in Southington and I didn't know why until I got home and ateit. Chinatown, here in Torrington, doesn't charge more for the proper quality) I didn't know what I was truly in for until myfirst bite due to competitive pricing and understanding this type of Commercial restaurant is extremely uncommon. Immediately, Iknew this was a "Family-Style" restaurant and would continue to be my one and only go-to Chinese restaurant in this area. I evencalled and praised them after my meal. In fact, I still do to the delivery driver every time. It's strange that, being anAmerican, it took 38 years to discover this was even a thing then move to another region and by some stroke of dumb luck findone again. There just happens to be a select few restaurant owners who actually care enough to s Read more

I was reluctant to order from Chinatown as I have been disappointed by so many Chinese restaurants in the past, but I have... ordered twice now and just ordered a third time and each time I had a great experience. The order was delivered promptly and thefood was hot and delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant at least for takeout as I have not eaten in the restaurantitself. Read more

Terrible service and food. My brother in law went to get the food and they mistakenly gave it to someone else, when he asked for... a new order they just wanted him to take the food the other customer was bringing back (disgusting). Also, they missed threeorders of egg rolls like what?! Just go to 707 Asian fusion, better service and quality food. Read more
