Love having the backdrop of the bay while eating a meal or having a drink.
I was at the resort for a conference and needed lunch between events. The place seems a bit unorganized in terms of management.... The staff are not quick to provide service, but there are buttons on the table to let them know when they are needed. Food wasokay. Burger was good, fries were kinda undercooked and cold. The food took a little while to get to the table. Other peoplethat were dining there from the same conference waited over 45 minutes for food. Read more
We stayed at the Holiday Inn West Bay in Traverse. Lovely hotel. Would stay there again! Lot's to offer, EXCEPT for the dinner... we had there at the DayClub. My husband and I ordered the Louisiana Fried Chicken. Was suppose to come with Garlic Dill mashedpotatoes, braised greens and honey black pepper gravy and cornbread. First off no mashed potatoes, so they offered Yukon fries.When the plate arrived, the chicken was heavily coated with some sort of breading. It was so thick, when you picked it off tolocate the meat, it come off in large clumps and hard as a rock. The yukon fries were not even done. They were chewy (yuck!). Ididn't finish them. We never got any cornbread. The braised greens were by far the worst part of the entire dinner. Super sourand terrible. I tried 3 times to give them a chance, and each time it was awful. I left that too. The chicken, when you actuallylocated it under all the breading, was a bit rubbery. My husband had one piece that was dried out. I have no idea what happenedin their kitchen! And how the waitress didn't notice all the food on our plates after is beyond me. Didn't eat the greens or theyukon fries. The breading from the chicken (once peeled off) covered the entire plate, there was so much. It was stunning... andprobably one of the worst meals we've had as adults. Our bill was close to $70 and we left hungry. Ideally we should of saidsomething right away but was hoping something on the plate would make up for the other items. That was our mistake. We could ofboth had something decent to eat and actually finished what was on our plates. And I'm not one to complain...but this was bad!Worthy of a complaint. What a waste of money.
