If you're ever on the square in downtown Troy Alabama stop by Byrd's. Highly recommend the Byrd dog with chili of course. Or if... you just trying to beat the heat grab yourself a cool ice cream cone. Read more
Whomever answers the phone (I think she said her name was Sally) is extremely unprofessional and needs a training course on... business phone etiquette. Interrupting an incoming caller by placing them on hold to transfer is not good customer service. Icalled in and before I even finished telling her my name or what I was calling for I was on hold. I didn't even know I was beingplaced on hold until I heard the hold music. I was transferred to the pharmacy and luckily that is what I needed. This ishorribly unprofessional and I wonder how other customers are treated when they call in. My apologies for wasting your time andinterrupting your day at WORK Sally. Read more
I've heard people talk about Byrds since I moved here 5+ years ago. First time trying it today. Gotta say I'm dissapointed.... Like, the women working the counter were friendly, don't get me wrong. I order a sausage link egg and cheese sandwich. Linkstasted cheap, eggs were extremely watery and scrambled (on a sandwich?), and bread was toasted, rather than grilled. I guess Ishould have ordered a plate and made my own sandwich? It also seemed over priced for what we got... The eating experience wouldhave earned 3-4 stars. So keep that in mind if you want to give it a try! But then I went to use the restroom (for which thereare signs pointing to it) and have to deduct another star or two... I had to walk through a dark, damp, very narrow storagearea, that has a small door leading outside, and is also where they receive their inventory orders for food! This whole littlestorage area, and where they recieve truck orders, REEKED of cigarette smoke. I imagine most of the time they stand outside ofthat door, so it all just trails in, but it had been raining and I wonder if they instead, smoked standing in thedoorway?? Anyway, it lead to a tiny, very dirty bathroom. Ugh. Either way, if that's what we have to go through to use yourbathroom, just remove the sign that says there is a bathroom to use. ???? Read more

Store front is a jewel in the block's crown,... anchoring the farthest corner beyond the heavy stone bank building opposite and complementary to the glass store fronts andimpressive brick architecture of this side Of the square. Pretty impressive and nice to experience considering the townoriginated from this high ground spot known as goat's hill way back in history. Read more
