Just start heading in the direction of this place. Read this review on the way to confirm you are making the right choice...... Because this review is as long as this place is good. I spent hours here eating, sipping chatting and having a soul soothingexperience. You'll meet Jen as you come in and you know there is a spirit to this place. In the kitchen is John putting so muchsoul into the food you could almost hear ... Well... If food could play the saxophone, it would make an album that would stillbe in production today. But you probably want to know about the food. They have meat, and fish, and chicken but also vegetarianand vegan options. Included in this is Jen & John's symphony of flavors that would make any herbivore try meat, and any omnivorepossibly give up meat. This to say that every dish I've had there is amazing... Maybe even too amazing, some of this requires apretty open pallet... If you are a salsa with your chicken strips kind of person, let Jen know and she'll steer you away fromthe 1 or 2 items that might challenge what you think a journey of flavor should be. But the food, it changes often, and isprepared with heart, soul and just technical perfection. The 21 hour tri tip cut like marbled wayugu but had NO fat. The ribsindeed fell off the bone. But don't go expecting these dishes, it changes weekly, but there is always something good to eat. Sowe talked about the food. Now the drink.. no spirits or hard liquor, but the wine selection is wide enough to satisfy anyone,but not overwhelming. The strawberry frose was what anyone who grew up in the 80s would now want as an Icee (it isn't overlysweet, so don't worry about that, it is pleasantly balanced). But now Jen... Incredibly tasty food and a totally ecletic yet zen vibe at this hidden culinary gem in Truckee! Chefs Jen and John create food... miracles for your palate and the menu changes weekly. This week they are offering tasty bites with a range of Phillipinoflavors - what a treat for vegans and meat lovers alike! It is very reasonably priced, portions are just right, too. We went for"light lunch" but everything was sooo tasty that we ended up having appetizers, main course, desserts and drinks, so we were setfor the rest of the day. Clearly, a lot of love has been put into this place. I had a grilled peach salad, smoked salmon, red pepper risotto, cucumber... melon salad, and a chocolate torte, and all of it was perfect. Truly one of the best dining experiences I have had! My boyfriend and I came in on a Thursday night and were delighted with the... food and the service. Since my boyfriend is vegan, it?s always hard to find good vegan-friendly food and this place did notdisappoint. The pre fixe menu had amazing options on it and the portions were perfect. It was very clear that they use freshingredients and that they put so much love and thought into their dishes. Jen was an absolute delight as well as was hercolleague. It?s very apparent that this is a passion project and I am genuinely looking forward to coming back here the nexttime I?m in Truckee! Read more

Oh my gosh. This was some of the best food I have ever had. My parents went on a day out, and when they came back, this was the... place they could not stop talking about. At that point, I had to try it for myself. The positive vibes and delicious food justmake this an incredibly fun and refreshing dining experience. If you are visiting anywhere in Lake Tahoe, I recommend making thedrive to Truckee and enjoy this restaurant as well as the other hidden gems Truckee has to offer. The 20 hour tri tip was cookedto perfection. I don't think I have ever had a better piece of meat in my life. Jen is also such a wonderful person to bearound. She radiates sunshine and happiness and always has a super fun and interesting story to tell. Also, the menu changesweekly, so be sure to come when you can!
