We were in the area and craving for some Filipino meal. Oliver, who was working behind the counter, was very accommodating and... was able to answer all our food queries. We ordered the pansit malabon. Flavor was spot on. It has the essence of the shrimpheads with a hint of citrus. Noodles were al dente. We also got the lechon kawali which was a weekend only item. The skin wasabsolutely crispy and the meat was succulent. Came with two cups of rice and a steaming bowl of sinigang soup. The dinuguan withrice came with two generous cups of rice. The soupy sauce was thick and creamy, with tender pork ears, meat and fat from thepig's head. For our taste, it could have been perfect if it had a tiny bit of acidity. Their lumpiang sariwa did not seem tocontain any ubod. But the substitution and all the other ingredients still made the flavor and texture complete. It has thesweet peanut sauce, with chopped nuts on top. It had no fresh garlic either, but we thought it was fine without it. Theirbibingka was baked on banana leaf. Warm, fluffy and buttery sweet cake. But our order seems to barely have any salted egg, whichdid not complete the sweet salty experience you would normally get from a proper bibingka. Read more

I've been to a few locations of Manila Sunset and this location is by far the worst. Stopped by for lunch since I saw it was... close to where I was and I miss eating at Manila Sunset in National City and Mira Mesa locations. Food: Goto TokwatBaboy Longsilog (Tupac liked i After tasting my dishes, I was highly disappointed that I ordered another plate to go, Liempo(grilled pork.) The TokWat Baboy is the WORST dish I've ever eaten at Manila Sunset (all locations.) Goldilocks is much better. The Goto was ok. Not a fan of the meat. I wish I stuck with the Aroz Caldo that I originally wanted to order. With that said, Ihated the dishes I ordered for myself that I ordered the Liempo. That too was just ok. TIP: I wanted Lechon Kawali but was toldit's on certain days. Did I miss a sign stating that? Bummer that this experience was a negative one. Read more

Authentic pinoy food! If you?re in the Tacoma area and do not want to fight the crowds of seafood city, Manila sunset is... definitely a place to be. We always come here to eat Pinoy food and enjoy some more hard to find pinoy cuisine like goto,Tokwa?t baboy, bibingka and the silogs. They also offer catering services esp if you enjoy their sweet and savory pinoy porkbarbecue skewers. Great food and chill ambience. Don?t forget to clean up your table after. Read more

The Shanghai lumpia was good. Ordered the dinuguan and still think my nanay?s is the best! The gravy was good but I prefer more... meat than grizzle and innards. Will try a different dish next time! Read more
