This place is awesome! I know, it's cliche but it really is. Me and a friend were in Tulsa for a concert and found The Tavern... by happenstance. The staff here is super nice and very knowledgeable. We came because we saw the shrimp dip picture on the reviews. She definitely recommends as it is now a new favorite. I got the... grilled cheese with tomato bisque. (It came out HOT - so I recommend to let it cool down, or you’ll lose a few tastebuds). Theserver asked if I wanted to add bacon or ham, and I said yes. Definitely tasted so good & I’m grateful she asked, I did notknow we could add ham. The environment was very chill & calm. Perfect for conversation and catching up. My friends and I ended up on a spontaneous mini-crawl and came here on recommendation from a nearby bartender. We were not... prepared (or really dressed) to walk into somewhere so fancy, but they didn't bat an eye. We had some very spicy mac & cheese,excellent bacon caramel popcorn and a sweet, fluffy strawberry shortcake concoction. The Broken Compass cocktail unfortunatelytasted like straight lemon juice to me, but when I couldn't drink it at all, they comped it, which was very classy. Our veryfriendly and knowledgeable waitress guided me to the Captain's Daiquiri, which was still citrus-forward but infinitely moreenjoyable. My friend also had an excellent drink I have forgotten the name of, but it tasted precisely like a grapefruit. Really great place with a more masculine atmosphere and decor. Matches the name very well. The food is beautiful and very... delicious and portions are big enough to share in my opinion. Maybe not if you're super hungry. They also have a fun drink listthat we enjoyed. Pictured is the pork chop, roasted chicken, one of their unique cocktails, and the huge brownie we shared fordessert.
