FORGET HALF SHELL AND CHUCK'S!!! My girlfriend and I went here for dinner to celebrate her birthday expecting the price to be... expensive and we heard some about the good reputation of the restaurant, but we were absolutely blown away by the quality of thefood and service. The prices were really surprising as well; they were very competitive and comparable to Half-Shell andChuck's, with the portion sizes only being a bit smaller. All the food and drinks came out very quickly and they all felt handcrafted and expertly made (kudos to those bartenders and chefs!). Our server Maria (I believe it was her name) was verycommunicative and had excellent knowledge of the restaurant and the menu. Coming from the service industry ourselves we boththought she deserves a raise! What makes it even better is that we found out the restaurant is locally owned and isn't acorporate chain and at least most of the food is locally sourced. The views of the black warrior and the ambience are just thecherry on top. I don't understand how they are able to push the high level of service and food for the prices they do. We wouldhave grabbed pictures of the presentation of our food and drinks to post as well, but we were too busy enjoying everything. Great location along the Tuscaloosa River Walk, very nice atmosphere, the restaurant was busy on a Wednesday evening. Friendly... and courteous staff, my waiter was Brett, he was awesome. The food came out in a timely manner and it was delicious, I beganwith the "Rockefeller Stuffed Mushrooms", then Salmon and a great dessert: crème brulée. Read more
