Went the Waysider for my first time. My Brother lives in Tuscaloosa and has been going there for years. He knows the owners,... family and servers there. He hadn't been there in a couple of years due to health issues. Everyone remembered him and were soglad to see him. He introduced me to everyone. We had the best breakfast that morning. He had pancakes and sausage. I hadcountry ham, red eye gravy, biscuits, eggs and grits. Oh my goodness it was delicious! We told them we were coming back laterfor lunch, and we did. It was SO awesome! Best fried pork chops and creamed corn ever. So worth it. I will be back. Thank youladies. Read more
The was the 2nd time in 2 years eating here. The first time I'd give it 4.5 stars, 5 would be a stretch. This time the 4 stars... is a stretch. Everything was good except the sausage gravy for the biscuits. It was not much more that water and had verydefinitive pockets of flour floating around, as if it had barely been mixed. Anyone who cooks knows what I'm talking about andI was surprised the cooking staff nor the waitress noticed because it was very obvious. All the rest of our food was very good. Service was good. Great hotcakes and biscuits however, the steak is nothing but gristle... Unfortunately, they are struggling to keep up. Arrived... at 0935 seated at 1100, and was told it was a 30 minute wait. At the time of this review I'm still waiting on my food at1155!!!!!! Our drinks have been empty for over 30 minutes. I love supporting family owned busines but they need a lesson inservice and running a restaurant. They would be better off hiring a manager from McDonald's to educate them in operation and howto manage a business!!! None of my family will be back. If Broken Egg is too busy you're better off going to the waffle house! Read more

Get there early! It?s great! Haven?t been there in years. Biscuits, light and fluffy! Eggs perfectly cooked. The grits... definitely a southern delicacy. The wife got the short stack and couldn?t finish it! Great food. Great service. Interestingconversation between guests. Definitely a family owned operation. 15 tables, probably seats less than 50.
