We were in Duluth and had heard about Betty's Pies before left home. We were debating about if it was worth the extra hour it... would add to our trip. Now whenever we are within an hour's drive of Betty's Pies we are making the journey. We pulled in,parked, and immediately got a seat at the counter. We were greeted by our waitress and promptly served two great coffees inperfect mugs. I ordered the Key Lime Pie and it was just heavenly, light and airy while still having that ideal key limeflavor. The crust stood up to flavor of the filling, and complimented it just wonderfully. My partner ordered the Gluten FreeCaramel Apple Pie and it was good enough to turn her into a pie lover on the spot. The crust was a crispy, buttery oat basedcrust that complimented the richness of the filling. The caramel to apple ratio in the filling was spot on, giving you exactlythe experience you want to eat. We bought a pie and some slices to take home, you can even buy the mugs! We made a newtradition on all our future north woods jouneys this trip and can't wait to be back. Read more
Absolutely incredible! Had the hot turkey sandwich, and a slice of banana cream pie. I'm usually not one for pie crust but each... bite was just as delicious, from start to finish. For a very busy restaurant, their service didn't miss a beat! From the darkhaired girl who greeted us (not sure if that was actually her role, especially at that moment as front of house staff was awayfor a few moments), to our actual greeter, and server. We stopped in here along the lake shore of Lake superior. The food is very good. The atmosphere is great and you can look out... the window right at Lake superior. The white staff was very friendly and nice. It?s kind a hard to get to because of someconstruction but well worth it if you?re ever up in this way stop by. Read more
If you are here for their Pie, then it's a definite 5. We have always visited this place to get couple of slices of pie. This... time we stopped in for lunch and we were surprised it was a completely different experience. We ordered the broasted chicken,while the chicken was good, Onion rings were just horrible and even the biscuit. Also ordered the wild rice burger, it waslacking seasoning and tasted bland.
