The five stars are for the food and the prices. Really can?t be beat. Under $5 for a fantastic Cuban sandwich and $1.50 for a... small Cuban coffee. Could be cleaner and updated inside but thats not what this place is trying to be. Its like an old schooldiner inside. Great cheap breakfast, lunch or dinner. Daily specials and most meats are slow cooked. The added photo gives onean idea of how many sandwiches have been cut in half over the years. There are lots of Cuban sandwiches in UC. This place is a gem! The food is top notch, prices unbelievable! The service amazing. Fav, roast pork, chicken soup, goat stew,... red beans. And that green sauce on yuca is miraculous! We ordered Rice , Beans and Pork. The pork was raw and the beans had no flavor. The other order was Rice , Beans , Steak &... Shrimp. The steak was flavorful but it was sooo thin that I could have cut myself with it like a papercut. I don't mind paying alittle more to get better quality food. I have been going here over 20yrs... its under new management... Nothings changed... Prices are down to earth. This is a... neighborhood eatery people come home from work looking to get something to eat. It not fancy on the inside.. or gentrifiedrestaurant. What makes up for it is the home style Cuban food. I had the picadillo with white rice. My friends has grilledsteak w/ onions. white rice and yuka. mango shakes. This is still one of the best bite for your buck in Hudson Country. Not a fancy sit down but if you?re looking for delicious... Cuban Style food, Breakfast-Lunch and Dinner, this is the place. The service is fast, Very affordable and good tastingfood. They still offer lunch plates for $3.50. This is almost un heard off now days. Delicious food at very low prices. Most dishes are $5 and can feed me for 2 or 3 meals (light eater). I specially love their... ropa vieja and chicken leg with fries, both are available on a daily basis. The cortado for $1.25 is also very delicious, I likeit much more than regular lattes. Read more
