It's ALWAYS a great experience going there. No matter what I order, it's all good. The desserts are even phenomenal. I know this... may not help for trying something specifically, however, if it helps, I usually order the chicken livers or when visitingfamily, I get the fried chicken. Basically, they are VERY good at what they make, so good that the food comes out to you quick,hot and fresh! Last but not least, there's the staff. All VERY friendly, courteous and help each other out just to make sureyou get the best service possible even when they have a full dining room. Me, my mom and sister went there for lunch on a Sat afternoon. I researched online the night before to see the hours and found... they were open til 8pm with lunch hours till 4pm. We showed up a little befre 2pm found a seat and waitress came over asked whatwe wanted to drink. My mom said sweet T the waitress said we just dumped it out about the same time a different waitress calledout we only have noodles. The one waiting on us repeated this and said we close at 2. We commented about the website and thewaitress said she doesn't maintain that. So we left. The last time I went there the service was great. That has certainlychanged the woman who came to our table was unpleasant and unprofessional she didn't once apologize for the miscommunicationwith the website or anything else. They were cleaning the salad bar and had dumped the tea befre it was even 2pm and certainlydidn't want to wait on us. Doesn't seem like a place that wants to make money. We'll never go there again. Definite 5 star rating for customer service. Our server was on top of her game and made everyone feel like an MVP. She also... recognized our granddad's hearing problem and adapted with grace. She recognized that my cup of lemonade had a small leak andtook care of it right away. She took care of the customer in every way. It definitely has a down home country dinner feel without being run down. The price for some of the food was a little high in comparison to the quality and taste. They seem to takepride in some of the best fried chicken around but it must have been an off day because the chicken was very dry and nearlytasteless. I suspect that the mashed potatoes were instant from a box in that they were very watery and tasteless. The ham andbeans was very cold like everything else and had exactly 4 tiny bites of ham. We ordered a trip to the salad bar for an extra $2and that was worth every penny plus some. For desert we ordered the brownie and ice cream which was amazing and feed 3 people.The service is absolutely where it should be but the food quality lacks in comparison to said service quality. My Family has known Kathy since she was 7 or 8 yrs old, and this was one of My Mother's favorite Restaurants to eat at. So... Rosanne Craig and I and Our Spouses came there for lunch and then to the cemetery to spread Mother's Ashes on Dad's grave and Ihighly recommend the Apple Dumpling very fast and friendly waitresses and the food was great and huge dinner rolls everything onthe buffet was just fantastic.........
