We?ve now visited The Diner Vancouver 5 times in the last 3 weeks. We love a lot of things about this place; the mission, the... design of the establishment, the food. The thought that went into designing the space translates into the dishes which aren?tthe gross, greasy splatter you get at most breakfast spots in Vancouver. The eggs Benedict while nothing new are elevated withthe use of layered ham vs a coin of Canadian bacon (ew), the hollandaise sauce is on point too. I?m not a fan of biscuits andgravy EVER, but after tasting my husbands on our first visit, I ended up ordering it on our next visit. The food while beingtraditional dishes, feels fresh and I appreciate that. I also love their mission to donate the ?tips? to the meals on wheelspeople, that feels really noble and says a lot about the staff working there. All in all, we love the vibe and the food and it?snow a breakfast staple for us. Read more

Or third or fourth visit, can't remember exactly. Each time has been around lunch/brunch, and we've never had any... complaints. Today I ordered the Breakfast Burger, cooked with some pink and an over-easy egg, swapping fries in instead of thehash browns. My children, because of the lack of a (still being developed) kid menu, both opted for the large yogurt andgranola parfait. The food is always fresh-made, and always served hot (except the parfait). The service is always pleasant, andon the couple occasions the house was packed, it was only a short wait for a table. Definitely in the weekend rotation forsure! Read more

Quality diner food, well priced, good specials, take away case with pastries and pies. Love the mission of this place --... providing subsidized or free meals for seniors. Staff are paid living wage and benefits, and all "tips" pay for the subsidizedmeal program. Read more

Wonderful diner! First and foremost they proudly add meals on wheels to their signage which is terrific, wonderful cause.... Second, while the diner is small-ish it didnt seem to be overly busy even on a Saturday. Maybe breakfast is different? Staff wasattentive and nice. The food was terrific, I had french toast which they use brioche for and it was soft and fluffy and butterywith some powdered sugar. By itself it tasted amazing and wasnt overly filling. I appreciated the portion size. Came with somefresh fruit, strawberry, blueberry, and orange which actually tasted fresh. My GF had an omelette with toast and hash browns. The eggs were light and fluffy and cooked well, not soggy at all. Hash browns were well cooked and crispy which is how theyshould be and was seasoned nicely. Overall food was delicious. Best part was it didnt break the bank, considering how expensiveeating out is nowadays both dishes came to a little more than $22 which imo is a steal especially for the quality of food. Myrecommendation is it's worth the wait if you do need to. P.S. notice most of the patrons were elderly and overheard pleasantconversations about the diner and their repeat business. May have found a little gem! Read more
