Given the method they use to cook the pizzas, I expected it to take some time, but I wasn?t ready for fourty minutes (and $13)... for a small. Definitely order ahead. The actual pizza (bacon and pineapple) was very inconsistent. One corner was excellent andtasted great with perfect texture. One corner I couldn?t bite into the crust it was so hard. The ?bacon bits? were random sizes, and multiple times I had to pull sizable wads of inedible chewy fat out of my mouth. Of the 16 tiny square-cut pieces, I enjoyedabout 2. This highly inconsistent and mostly negative experience leads me to not want to return. I tried to share the remainderof the pizza with my family and coworkers, and we still have a quarter of it left. In summary, if you go to Davenport?s, orderplain, hard to mess up pizzas. Anything beyond pepperoni and cheese can be risky. Extra gripe: When I ordered the take-out,they forced me to give my phone number and join their rewards program to complete my order despite me saying I wasn?t going toleave the premises. That?s unacceptable. The place was also very dirty outside. Read more

Disappointed. I have been a loyal customer for years at the Mountain Brook location. While I waited awhile that wasn't the issue... the bartender was very friendly and I saw the place was very busy and I understood. The disappointment was the pizza. It wasundercooked and a gelatinous mess. It was barely cut so we had to cut it when we got home. Only a few pieces on the edge had alittle crispiness. It was like eating cheese and sauce on soggy bread. We live in Vestavia and was hoping this would be a newregular spot but not if the food quality is like this. Read more

My wife and I have always loved Davenport?s. We were very excited to have this new location open a little closer to home. It has... not disappointed! The pizza is just like the original location and we have really enjoyed the updated atmosphere. Read more

I write this review truly hoping that it spurs change because I wanted so bad for this place to be successful. Awesome vibe and... location. Service is just nowhere near where it needs to be. Waiting an hour for a pizza isn?t going to lead to success.Understand that staffing is so hard right now, but it?s so important to get it correct right out of the gate. I?ll be backbecause I want so bad for this spot to work out. Wishing you much success - please improve! Read more
