I was told that this was the best Chicken Fried Steak in Victoria, TX and it was. Will be back for the burgers
Absolute gem in Victoria. Had the chicken-fried steak sandwich, curly fries, and grilled chicken salad. All were cooked... properly, hot, and tasty. Especially, the jalapeno ranch dressing was kick butt. I would highly recommend checking this placeout if you want some good eats! Read more
I was greeted promptly once I entered the establishment. It was clean and was fairly busy. Had a nice pleasing aroma of grilled... ground beef inside and outside. Made my mouth water to anticipating that Double J doublemeat double cheeseburger! Mmm wastasting good already.! Service was good and our meals were brought to us quickly. Just as I remembered some years back. Thatgrilled meat just melted deliciousness on my palette. Very reasonable pricing here. I love the rustic hunter's lodge look. Ithas always been my favorite decor. I also enjoy the ol country music that plays at a peaceful level that makes you get up anddance. Over all....I'll be back many times. Thanks Double J. P.S. I was really disappointed in this restaurant. I ordered a grilled turkey sandwich. It had 2 small pieces of deli meat, sliced... extremely thin on Texas toast with mayo lettuce and tomato. Could not even taste the turkey. My onion rings were barely warm.Someone else ordered a hamburger and the meat was clearly mixed with bread crumbs. She loved her small salad though. Told combo could have fries, tots or rings - chose tots. Paid with credit card. Surprise! Extra chargefor using card. Extra charge for adding cheese. extra charge ($1.29) for substituting tots. took forever for food to come outand fries were cold. and if you're there when its nearly closing time, they start glaring at you and stacking chairs on thetables around you.
