The Pub is always a fun place to visit. There is ample outdoor seating on the patio and you can watch the happenings on Main St.... The drinks and food selection is very good. The quality of the food is excellent. We love to stop in for a beer and some food. Read more
We had a great time there this weekend with a large group of people. The bartenders were very efficient and friendly. They were... very busy and yet took the time to greet each customer with a smile. I would have given 5 stars for the evening but I had abrief encounter with a staff member that bothered me. While I completely understand she was doing her job, she spoke to me as ifI had done something wrong and I hadn't. Some people were moving tables around to accomodate a larger group on the patio and shecame out immediately stating that it was against the fire code to block a certain area and the facility could get shut downimmediately. So they began moving the tables back and nobody was complaining. I was seated at one of the tables to the side andwas not participating in the moving of the tables. I only made a comment about them wanting to make room for others, butunderstood why it wasn't possible to put the tables together. She continued to direct her comments loudly to me as I was stillseated at a table that was in its original spot from where I sat when I arrived. I couldn't understand why she was repeatingeverything and directing it at me as the others were putting the other tables back without any issue. I understand, perhaps,there could have been a problem in the past with the fire code and it is important to keep the walkway clear. I just wouldsuggest next time she speak to those who are actively doing something wrong, in a nicer tone, to get the results she is lookingfor. If I had driven myself I would have left at that point. We visit The Draft in Oceanside on a regular basis but their menu is kind of limited to just burgers, sammiches, wraps, wings &... pizza. After seeing Vista Village Pub's menu, there's a whole plethora of options that all sounded great, so we popped in withfriends on a Friday afternoon to eat. We ordered: * Killer Nachos * Buffalo Chicken Sandwich * Shepherd's Pie * DuckWings * Long Island Iced Tea * Margarita * 2 x Breakfast Shot * and some beers The Shepherd's Pie was probably the bestthing we tried. Looking like a pot pie with a crust on top, it tasted very good and the size was plenty. The Killer Nachoswere pretty basic when it comes to nachos...nothing unusual or killer about it. The Duck Wings were good but they were notsauced with the buffalo sauce like I prefer. They came dry with the sauce on the side. Although these were good, I think Iprefer standard chicken buffalo wings. The Buffalo Chicken sammich was also pretty basic. The cocktails were good and the beerwas cold. The service was exceptional. I would have rated the food 3 stars but the service really scored that extra star forme. There is plenty of seating inside and out. Seats outside are not padded, but the seats inside are (this is always a bigdeal to me...I like to be comfortable and I have a flat @ss unfortunately).
